Elise is an RMT who’s focus is in treating chronic low back pain and pelvic postural alignment. As a Registered Massage therapist for over 10 years she has extensive knowledge of the body and its pathways to rehabilitation. She has completed courses in Medical Acupuncture, Active Release Techniques (A.R.T), Symmetry (corrective posture exercise), as well as various courses in fascial release techniques. Elise’s had the honour of studying the fascial system through dissection with facial expert Tom Myeres, in Tempe Arizona. This lead her to include Fascial Stretch Therapy (Stretch to Win) to her approach of working with the body for improved alignment, mobility, and injury recovery.
Elise has worked with amateur and professional athletes (NBA and NHL present and alumni) as well as community and corporate population. In her clinical practice Elise utilizes her modalities to treat conditions relating to repetitive strain, athletic, and postural dysfunction injuries. Manifestations of these can lead to cervical spine, low back and hip pathologies, rotator cuff, tennis and golfers elbow, and ligamentous injuries of the knee ad foot.
Elise believes in a movement based approach to her massages. During a treatment the body is moved, lengthened, and worked appropriate to the condition to optimize tissue healing. More than just mechanically focused, one of Elise’s personal vocations is holistic health. This includes the symbiotic relationship between holistic nutrition, emotional somatic energy, and spirituality.
It is the bases of her philosophy that a massage should be deeply therapeutic and focused, as well as deeply relaxing and restorative. Elise values a collaborative approach to treatment and works alongside a great team of professionals at Mindful Maelstrom.
When she’s not working, Elise can be found running around with her daughter in the park, preparing plant based meals, watching criterion films with her husband, and her favourite activity - pretending to gobble up those tiny feet!

Owner, Creative Director and Registered Psychotherapist, essentially the Captain of the Mindful Maelstrom Crew says:
“Imagine who you would be if there was nothing holding you back. In my career as a psychotherapist and through my own introspective explorations, I have come to learn that only through the wholehearted acceptance and integration of all aspects of ourselves - the good, the bad and the ugly - can we actualize our fullest potential and live an authentic and truly fulfilled life.
I work from the belief that we all have unconscious, unacknowledged parts of ourselves that influence our thoughts, feelings, and subsequent behaviours, for better or for worse. The more we work at bringing these parts of ourselves to the forefront of our awareness, the more confident we will feel in allowing ourselves to be guided by our own experience and intuition, rather than by external influences. The less we look to the world around us for answers and instead look inward, the more aligned we will feel with our purpose and the more we will be living it fully and authentically.
I will guide you on a journey to mindfully align to the beat of your own drum”.

“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” -Friedrich Nietzsche.
Life is challenging. People often seek therapy in its most challenging moments. As your therapist, I will not only provide support, but help you derive meaning from these challenges.
My approach is exploratory. While the therapeutic process surfaces difficult emotions and thoughts, they become more manageable with curiosity, compassion, humour, and acceptance. I stand alongside clients as they voyage into the depths of themselves - introspection is easier with a nonjudgmental teammate.
At its core, therapy is human-to-human connection. In fact, research shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the most significant predictor of positive outcomes in therapy. I use the therapeutic relationship to foster vulnerability, openness, empathy, insight, and
ultimately growth.
Therapy is an individualized and varied experience, and as such, my therapy is tailored to you. I draw from several different modalities, including acceptance and commitment therapy, existential-humanistic therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. I employ these frameworks to help locate the healing power that already exists within.
Let’s embark on the journey together!

Being a human being is hard sometimes. Living in today’s world with its unique pressures and stressors has created circumstances that can feel especially challenging to adapt to, let alone thrive under.
I work with women, men and non-binary individuals who grapple with perfectionism, anxiety, trauma, depression and emotional regulation. This looks different to every person but the common thread I see is a feeling of disconnection from their bodies, overwhelm from their schedules, stress or conflict in their relationships, or a deep existential questioning of themselves and a desire to have more meaning and presence in their lives and communities.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Somatic methods that help clients to identify, embrace and process thoughts and emotions, in a pace and style that we design based on how you work best. I involve the body to ensure we are not just talking about impactful events and thoughts but also processing and releasing stress that the body may be holding. Compassion, mindfulness and autonomy are key tools I integrate into sessions, to ensure you feel in control and empowered in your abilities and story.
With my background in community mental health, I have worked with many individuals, ages and populations. I have been with clients in crisis, intense pain, trauma and grief, as well as joy, self-fulfillment and achievement. I help clients view themselves outside of the pain or problem they are experiencing and support them working towards building or reconnecting with their ideal selves, communities and values.
If this sounds like you, and you’re ready, let’s take the first step towards prioritizing your mental wellness and book a consult today.

Do you feel as if you are constantly oscillating between feeling stuck and overwhelmed? I get it. Located in the bustling city of Toronto, I recognize the challenges of navigating the overwhelming pace of modern life. The reality is that we can find ourselves disconnected on many levels: from the rhythms of the natural world, our bodies, our emotional experience, a sense of community, our authentic Self. This is further impacted by trauma and difficult life experiences. It is my belief that this disconnection is at the root of much of our suffering.
As a therapist, I view our sessions as a sacred pause from the demands of life, providing an opportunity to turn inwards and attune to the richness of your inner landscape. My practice is rooted in the belief that within every person exists a wellspring — a source of wisdom, creativity, and innate capacity for healing. This wellspring can become muddled due to painful past experiences and messages received from the larger sociocultural context we exist in. We may have developed parts that have taken on extreme roles in order to protect us. I view my role as a guide in the process of supporting you to develop a curious and compassionate relationship with all parts of yourself — even the undesirable ones — to resolve inner conflicts, cultivate self-acceptance, and reconnect with your authentic Self.
I strive to embody an empathic, grounded presence that creates a safe container for exploration and inquiry. I bring an intuitive, compassionate curiosity, equipped with an air of playfulness. If your thoughts can make you sick, they can also make you well.
Do you feel stuck? Overwhelmed? Have you ever wanted to become your most authentic self? In the darkest of times, we may feel wedged between questions like these. Sometimes the answer is right in front of us - or perhaps even within us.
By exploring these existential questions, we create space to learn about our emotions, relationships, interactions, boundaries, resilience, recovery, and accomplishments. Using strength, solution, and mindfulness-based approaches, Francesco’s goal is to help you feel empowered throughout your journey, while integrating your personal goals and strengths into everyday life.
He provides a safe and open space for you to reflect and be heard as you navigate your therapeutic journey. Working with a combination of positive psychotherapy (PPT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Francesco emphasizes how to live in the moment and lead a meaningful life. Through mindfulness, we have the ability to discover how challenges and setbacks can, in fact, provide us with learning opportunities, and help us to recognize our own true purpose.
You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf. Francesco is prepared to help you ride those waves.
Francesco holds both an (Honours) Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. He has also received training and observation in both the areas of clinical psychology and psychiatry, providing him with experience in clinical, residential, and overseas settings.
Along with spending his time as a researcher for both the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies and with the Heroic Hearts Project, he also volunteers in harm reduction sectors with vulnerable communities.

Ultimately, through self-awareness, we can curiously - and without judgment - determine our strengths, what we accept about ourselves, and what we desire to change.
Operating from an integrative and person-centred approach, Tarni strives to empower her clients to discover their personal strengths and capacities in order to tackle life with grace. She believes that you are the expert of your own story, and her role is to create a space free of judgment for you to discover your most authentic self!
Tarni’s work experience within school and community settings has provided her with integral knowledge for providing psychotherapy support for families with children with special needs. She possesses rich work experience in the social services sector, having held positions in the clinical and educational realms. Tarni has garnered niche expertise in program development and execution of direct client-specific Applied Behavioural Analysis therapeutic services for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” ―Chinese Proverb
I believe the same can be said about taking steps toward achieving your best self. Set aside any feelings of what you wish you could have done in the past and feel good knowing you are taking your first steps today.
I strive to take a holistic approach to my work, because I know there are many things that make you uniquely you, and that no two people are alike. Whatever brought you here today, whether it be feelings of anxiousness, overwhelming sadness, burnout, or any mix of emotions, I am happy you found us.
Before finding myself in this role as a therapist, I worked as an administrator at clinics much like this, spending countless phone calls setting clients up for their first contact with their new therapist. I know that taking these first steps and sending that email or making that first phone call can feel like an impossible task, but I am so happy you’re taking these first steps. I also know that once you hit send or end the call, it feels like a weight has been lifted.
Now, I have the privilege of helping clients not only at their first step, but throughout their journey as well. I would love the opportunity to get to know you better, and to walk with you alongside this journey.
My goal is to provide whoever walks through the door a safe, comfortable, supportive environment. I hope with me you can feel comfortable enough to speak your truth and be your authentic self, knowing that I will listen without judgement.
